Founded in 1917, Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra was declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act in May 1981. The institute focuses on innovative and comprehensive education and encourages initiative and creativity. The institute aims to instill in its students the basic values of humanism, secularism and democracy. Sited at the outskirts of Agra, the institute provides simple, disciplined and principled education to strengthen the moral and spiritual values of the students.

The campus hosts world class facilities including a Central Library, Computer Centre, Games and Sports facilities, Hostels, Language Laboratories, Medical and Health Care Centre, Multimedia Laboratory, Non-Resident Students’ Centres and a canteen. A multidisciplinary research centre has been set up in the institute under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The centre has IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Madras as its collaborators. A centre for research has been set up to upgrade the skills of the students.

Students who pass their Intermediate examination in Arts, Commerce and Science with CGPA of 6.0/10 or above, are eligible to apply for the undergraduate programmes.
Students who pass their three year Honours degree, BTech or BEd Course from the institute with a CGPA of 9.0/10 or above are directly admitted to the Postgraduate programme of study in the same discipline whereas students with a CGPA of 8.5/10 to below 9.0/10 may be directly admitted to the Postgraduate programme of study in the same discipline.

For online application, a sum of Rs 230/- or Rs 270/- per course as the case may be, can be deposited using SBI site http://www.onlinesbi.comas under:
a) Payment can be made online (Net banking or Debit/Credit Card) using State Bank of India site mentioned above by choosing the option “State Bank Collect”.
b) In case the payment is being made in cash, the applicant needs to download and print the challan from SBI site mentioned above and submit the fee in any branch of State Bank of India using the printed challan.

Accomodation in hostels at Dayalbagh Institute is permissible only on the basis of merit. Students who are desirous of hostel accommodation need to apply through the Co-Operative Educational Society. Only vegetarian food is served in the hostel.
