Seven Indian universities have made it to the top 100 in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024 which was announced on October 8.

This year, India has also surpassed neighbouring China with the highest number of universities making it to the QS rankings this year.

While China’s Peking University has been ranked #1, the University of Hong Kong and National University of Singapore have been ranked #1 and #3 respectively.

Among the Indian varsities, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has been ranked the highest of all at #40. They have scored highly in the ranking criteria such as Employer reputation, academic reputation, employment outcomes and sustainability.

However, in the category of Inbound Exchange, outbound exchange and international students, the varsity has not scored well.

Following this, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has been ranked #46, Indian Institute of Technology (Madras) #53 and Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru at #58.

The 11 parameters were considered for the QS Asia University Rankings including Academic reputation, Employer reputation, Faculty:student ratio, Staff with a PhD, Proportion of international faculty, student exchange, international research network, citations per paper and papers per faculty, and proportion of international students and Proportion of inbound exchange students and proportion of outbound exchange students.
