Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Anna Nagar (West), Chennai is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. Started in January 1, 1989 by Swami Chinmayanandaji with 11 students and four faculty members, the school is one of the four Vidyalayas established by Swamiji and is managed by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Mumbai. The school today boasts 80 faculty members and 1800 students from kindergarten through class XII.
The school hosts 39 spacious and well ventilated classrooms, well equipped labs for math, physics, chemistry and biology, computer centre, an auditorium with seating capacity for 500 people, activity area and play pen for kindergarten children, a spacious playground and facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
Affiliated with CBSE, the school imparts value based education which helps build a strong and effective moral foundation. The school’s teaching methodology is based on the Chinmaya Vision Programme that establishes a foundation for integrated personality development, offers in depth knowledge of Indian-culture and instills feelings of patriotism.

SportsThe age eligibility for LKG is 3.5 years as on June 1 of the year in which admission is sought. Admission to all other classes is subject to availability and only children from recognised CBSE schools are admitted after they produce transfer certificate issued by the educational department.
For admission to class XI, the student should have passed class X exam either from the ICSE, CBSE or state board school. Students who have passed class X from Chinmaya Vidyalaya are given preference for admission, depending on their grade and marks obtained.
