Sunstone, a leading network of higher education institutions, hosted the fourth edition of its flagship cause-based marathon, Educathon 2025, at Urban Akhara, Gurugram. The event drew more than 400 participants, including corporate groups and community members, united by the goal of supporting education for underprivileged children.
What began in 2022 with just 110 runners has now evolved into a movement blending fitness with social purpose. The 10km category alone attracted over 110 participants this year – the same number that represented the entire inaugural edition.
The proceeds from the run were donated to You In You, an NGO dedicated to providing access to education for disadvantaged children. “When a community comes together to run for a cause bigger than themselves, every stride turns into hope,” said Pankaj Bansal, Founder Trustee of You In You.

The event featured participants aged 6 to 60, with pre-run Zumba sessions, spirited flag-offs and a lively award ceremony. Race director Abhay Bhanot oversaw seamless execution across categories, ensuring a safe and memorable experience for runners.
The marathon was supported by several partners, including Alan’s Chips, Independence Water, Spinner, Nirvana Health and Dr Kinju Mishra, who contributed to enhancing participant health and recovery.
Sunstone co-founders Ashish Munjal, Piyush Nangru and Ankur Jain reflected on the event’s growth: “Educathon began as an effort to inspire fitness among communities. Over time, it has become a platform that not only promotes health but also creates access to education for those who need it most.”
As dawn broke over Gurugram, Educathon 4.0 stood as testament to how a modest initiative can evolve into a purpose-driven movement, combining fitness, empathy and education to create lasting impact.
