The 26th Inter Amity Institutions Sports Meet, Sangathan-2025, was inaugurated at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, with students from Amity campuses across India and overseas set to compete in more than 30 sporting events. The month-long celebration will culminate on Founder’s Day, marking the birthday of Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, founder president of the Amity Education Group.
The opening ceremony began with the lighting of the Sangathan Mashaal, synchronously ignited across Amity campuses worldwide, followed by a relay through Noida and Greater Noida before returning to the main campus. The Sangathan Flag was hoisted by senior leaders including Dr Atul Chauhan, chancellor, Amity University, Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, vice chancellor, Amity University, and members of the Chauhan family. A march past and an oath-taking ceremony by team captains further underscored the spirit of sportsmanship.
Declaring the meet open, Dr Atul Chauhan emphasised Amity’s commitment to nurturing youth leadership through unity, friendship, and sportsmanship. He also announced the construction of a new world-class academic block with a Founder’s Court, to be inaugurated next year.
Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla highlighted Sangathan’s enduring place in Amity’s legacy, while Ajit Chauhan, Chairman, Amity Online, stressed adaptability and resilience in a fast-changing world, adding that scholarships are being offered to athletes. Amol Chauhan, Executive Director, Strategic Operations, drew inspiration from sporting psychology, urging students to conquer self-doubt and remain focused.
Group vice chancellor, Dr Gurinder Singh, described Sangathan as one of Amity’s most significant traditions, conceived to instil teamwork, resilience, and commitment.
The ceremony concluded with a friendly table tennis match between Amity School of Business and Amity Global Business School, attended by faculty, staff and students from across the institution.
