It’s a proud and joyous moment for St. Michael’s High to be finally recognised for 167 years of service to the country. I attribute our promotion to India #1 rank by this year’s sample respondents to our sustained efforts to provide holistic education rooted in the Jesuit tradition — the ‘4 Cs’ — Competence, Conscience, Compassion, and Commitment. These guiding principles of holistic development have enabled St. Michael’s to earn a national reputation for producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also well-grounded in life skills, values and responsible citizenship. Our top scores for academic reputation and co-curricular education endorse our focus on holistic education. I am also pleased with our high score for quality of alumni. Over the past 167 years, St. Michael’s has produced numerous distinguished alumni including scientists, industrialists, artists, political leaders, and in particular, exceptional bureaucrats who have contributed to nation-building. Recognition of St. Michael’s as India #1 vintage co-ed day school has boosted the morale of our teachers, students, and parents. More importantly, it is a beacon of hope to the people of Bihar to strive for excellence” — Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan, SJ, Principal of St. Michael’s High School, Patna (estb.1858) which has 4,987 students mentored by 128 teachers.
