The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, Government of Karnataka, is set to host the inaugural Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 from 4–6 November at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru. Organised by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) in collaboration with the Karnataka Skill Development Authority (KSDA), Knowledge Partner Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), and Country Partner Germany, the event aims to position Karnataka as a global hub for workforce innovation and skilling excellence.
The summit will be inaugurated by Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, in the presence of D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister, and Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil, Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood and Medical Education. Distinguished guests include Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem, Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, Republic of Mauritius; Dr. Philipp Ackermann, Ambassador of Germany to India; and Mr. Ashutosh Gupta, Managing Director – India and Asia Pacific, Coursera.
Centred on the theme “Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy,” the three-day event will host over 3,000 attendees, 100 speakers, and 50 partners and exhibitors. Notable speakers include Subroto Bagchi, Co-founder of Mindtree; Ravi Venkatesan, Chairman, Global Energy Alliance; B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog; and international experts such as Mish Eastman of RMIT University, Australia.
A ministerial panel on 5 November will deliberate on “Convergence of Education, Skills & Industry for a Trillion USD Economy by 2032,” featuring ministers from key departments of the Karnataka Government and moderated by Madan Padaki, Managing Trustee, Head Held High Foundation.
Key highlights include Skillathon 2025, a national innovation challenge for students; the Kaushalya Karnataka Awards, recognising excellence in skill development; and the Skill Expo Pavilion, showcasing the latest EdTech and training innovations. The summit will also feature policy roundtables, masterclasses, and the cultural showcase Karnataka Vaibhava.
Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil remarked, “The Bengaluru Skill Summit reflects Karnataka’s determination to lead India into the next era of workforce development through an inclusive, globally benchmarked skilling framework.”
Dr. Gayathri Vasudevan, Chairperson of LabourNet Services India Pvt. Ltd., added, “The summit aims to bridge innovation and employability, ensuring young people gain meaningful employment through skill development.”
