– Aneesha Reddy, Head of Strategic Initiatives, CHIREC International School
For decades, entrepreneurship has been viewed as a pursuit for adults – reserved for MBA graduates or seasoned professionals. At CHIREC International School, we see it differently. We believe that young people already possess bold, world-changing ideas. Too often, these ideas are buried beneath assignments, exams, and routines. But what if students were given the space and support to explore them now? The result: start-ups with the potential to redefine industries today.
At CHIREC, holistic education lies at the heart of our philosophy. Every learner is encouraged to think creatively, take initiative, and embrace challenges as opportunities. Our goal is to nurture a generation of learners who are not only equipped with knowledge but also with confidence, resilience, and an ethical mindset to turn their ideas into meaningful impact.
As educators, we understand the profound benefits of entrepreneurship education. It builds problem-solving, decision-making, risk-taking, resilience, leadership, collaboration, and financial literacy. These are not just business skills – they are life skills. Our students are already thinkers, tinkerers, and problem-solvers, and school is where their ideas come alive. To us, entrepreneurship is not merely about starting a business; it is about cultivating a mindset of innovation and responsible leadership.
Looking beyond our school, India stands on the brink of an economic transformation, projected to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030. This presents a tremendous opportunity to harness the creativity and potential of our youth. By fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, we can empower the next generation to be not just job seekers but job creators – driving India’s growth story forward.

To bring this vision to life, CHIREC partnered with one of the world’s leading business schools, the Indian School of Business (ISB), to launch the Student Entrepreneurship Programme, immersing students in the world of start-ups and innovation.
Following the resounding success and positive feedback from last year’s edition, CHIREC and ISB are proud to present the second edition this academic year. This four-week intensive programme blends theory and practice through a two-day Boot Camp, Entrepreneurship Sessions, Mentor Connects, a Mock Pitch, and a grand Demo Day at ISB. The sessions cover crucial topics such as Business Model Design, Product–Market Fit, Financial Planning, Marketing, and Pitching.
Guided by ISB professors, mentors, and alumni, students work in teams to develop viable business ideas across sectors such as EdTech, Healthcare, Fashion, Sustainability, and Quick Commerce. The programme culminates in a Shark Tank–style Demo Day, where students pitch their ideas to real investors from across India. Beyond the excitement of competition, they leave with sharper skills, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to turn ideas into impact.
Reflecting on her experience, Manya Agarwal from IB 11 shared, “It was a great initiative that allowed us to truly experience what entrepreneurship feels like. On Day 1 at ISB, we learnt that the best ideas come from personal stories and experiences – something that makes you passionate about your idea. That inspired us to work on sign language. The programme taught us about teamwork and the determination it takes to pitch to real investors. After the feedback, we’re motivated to keep going and continue this journey.”
Through initiatives like these, CHIREC is preparing its students to lead India’s entrepreneurial future – with bold ideas, creativity, and courage.
