Company name: Educational Initiatives (Ei)
Company Description
Educational Initiatives (Ei) is a first-of-its-kind PedTech leader that has been serving the education domain for the last 24 years with the vision that “Students everywhere should learn with understanding.” In pursuit of this vision, the organisation has developed programmes and offerings to support students, teachers, and schools in their learning and assessment journeys.
As part of its mission, Ei works with both Indian private and government schools. In addition, the organisation collaborates with multiple corporates and NGOs to help underprivileged students achieve their learning aspirations.
Mission Statement
Ei leverages the twin levers of cutting-edge pedagogical research and technology-based solutions to help students across different economies and demographics learn with understanding. With more than two decades of experience in the edtech space, its vast pool of student data enables the organisation to identify learning gaps and drive a systematic shift in the way teachers teach and students learn.
Reach and Impact
Ei currently operates in 19 countries and works with over 15,000 schools, impacting more than 15 million students. Its offerings—Ei ASSET, Ei Mindspark, and Ei CARES—are widely recognised and appreciated by various institutions.
As part of its efforts to help schools achieve better learning outcomes, the organisation collaborates with multiple state and national education boards. A significant part of this work involves supporting the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Since July 2021, Ei has contributed to key assessment reforms, particularly those related to board examinations. The organisation has created multiple documents for the Board and has donated nearly 11,000 ASSET questions, which are now available on the Diksha portal.
Products/solutions
Ei primarily works across two domains — Assessment and Learning.
Competency Based Diagnostic & Periodic Assessments: Ei always worked in assessment for learning and its Ei ASSET and Ei CARES are highly popular among academics across the nation precisely for the competency based questions that induce critical thinking skills of a child and diagnoses the actual learning gap.
With the NEP 2020 in effect, schools will slowly have to shift towards assessments that measures learning outcomes and identify learning gaps. Its offerings do just that and some more. It offers two types of assessment solutions:
1) ASSET: A skill-based diagnostic assessment conducted annually that measures students’ conceptual understanding and analyse the skill level of the student/class/school along with providing benchmarking
2) CARES: A periodic, formative, customised assessment tailored as per the school’s syllabus to check for understanding of a topic after it has been taught. It gets integrated with school’s assessment system to provide a more holistic overview of every class/section/student gaps and ways to remediate it.
Mindspark
Adaptive, personalised and AI driven learning platform that creates a custom learning journey for every child based on their learning level. It understands and adapts itself as per every student’s different learning level, different pace of learning and current holding on the particular topic.
With its AI integrated platform, it rectifies and remediates all the misconceptions and ensures topic accuracy. Ei Mindspark has been reviewed by researchers at Harvard, MIT & Stanford. Infact it is the only platform to have undergone five independent research studies for its efficacy.
Ei has a dedicated Academic Support Team that hand holds the schools and provides insights required for enhanced learning outcomes.
