The Child Education Society has launched ‘Yog Sankalp’, a wellness initiative across all 26 Bal Bharati Public Schools, with an inaugural programme held at Bal Bharati Public School on 21 May 2026.
Organised in collaboration with Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan, the month-long programme will conclude on 21 June with the observance of International Yoga Day. The initiative is based on the theme “Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom and World Peace” and aims to promote holistic and value-based education.
The inauguration was attended by Acharya Pratishtha, Director of Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan, along with Dheeraj Shashwat, who oversees the organisation’s activities and finances. Other attendees included Nikhil Channa, President of the Child Education Society; K. Khullar, Vice President; L. V. Sehgal, Joint Secretary; and Meenu Goswami, Joint Director, Impact Accelerator, CES.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Sanskrit shlokas, followed by yoga presentations by students and members of the Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan Ashram.
In his welcome address, host school principal Mr Deepak Dua said the initiative highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting healthy habits and mindful living.
Nikhil Channa paid tribute to late former CES President L. R. Channa for supporting the collaboration between the Child Education Society and Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan. He called on participants to make yoga part of their daily routine.
Addressing the gathering, Acharya Pratishtha spoke about the role of yoga in promoting health and inner wellbeing. She also guided attendees through breathing exercises, laughter sessions and gratitude meditation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Asha Prabhakar, Convenor of the CES Sports Council.
