CBSE Chairperson Lokhande Prashant Sitaram has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs while continuing to hold additional charge as CBSE chief until a regular chairperson is appointed.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment as Additional Secretary in the Home Ministry, with additional charge of the post of CBSE Chairperson.
A 2001-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre, Sitaram was appointed CBSE Chairperson last month after his predecessor was moved following the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system controversy. At the time of his appointment to the Board, he was already serving as an Additional Secretary in the Home Ministry.
