MET Institute of PGDM has received MBA equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for its two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme, enabling graduates to access academic and career opportunities available to MBA degree holders.
The AIU recognition makes graduates eligible to apply for doctoral programmes in India and overseas, as well as positions in government organisations, public sector undertakings (PSUs) and regulatory bodies where an MBA or equivalent qualification is required.
MET said the equivalence also addresses long-standing concerns over the recognition of PGDM qualifications for higher education and public sector recruitment, while improving the qualification’s acceptance for international admissions.
Commenting on the development, Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee, MET, said the recognition would allow graduates to pursue careers in corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, research, public policy and higher education without limitations.
The two-year full-time PGDM programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), recognised by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and now holds AIU MBA equivalence. The programme includes industry partnerships, internships, live projects and corporate interactions.
According to the institute, the programme has recorded a highest placement package of ₹20 lakh per annum while also supporting graduates pursuing entrepreneurial ventures.
