Three students from ALLEN Career Institute were among the four Indian participants who won gold medals at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2026, helping India jointly secure the top rank alongside China and Vietnam.

The Olympiad was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 10 to 19, with 363 participants from 93 countries. India won four gold medals, marking its best performance at the competition in 27 years, according to the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

The three ALLEN students who won gold medals were Debadatta Priyadarshi and Harshit Singla, both Class XI students, and Kabir Chhillar, a Class XII student. Kabir Chhillar had also secured All India Rank 2 in JEE Advanced 2026.

ALLEN CEO Nitin Kukreja said the achievement reflected the institute’s contribution to India’s performance in international Olympiads and noted that it was the first time three students from a single institute had won gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad.

Selection for the Indian team was conducted through four stages, beginning with the National Standard Examination in Chemistry (NSEC), followed by the Indian National Chemistry Olympiad (INChO), the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp (OCSC), and the international competition. According to ALLEN, 189 of its students qualified for the second stage, 16 advanced to the third stage, and three were selected for the four-member Indian team.

The institute said its students have won 191 medals in official international Olympiads to date, including 93 gold, 75 silver and 23 bronze medals across disciplines such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, astronomy and earth science.
