Hindustan Group of Institutions signs MoU with University of Southern Mindanao

Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Philippines, to strengthen academic collaboration through student and faculty exchanges, joint research and curriculum development.

The agreement will facilitate collaborative research, joint academic programmes, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, cultural exchange, and the sharing of academic expertise and best practices between the two institutions.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior representatives from both institutions, including Dr Jonald Lozarito Pimentel, SUC President IV, and Prof. Dr Marcos Fernandez Monderin, Director of International Affairs at USM, along with the leadership of HGI.

As part of the collaboration, the institutions will explore partnerships in areas such as artificial intelligence, drone technology, electric mobility, data science, smart agriculture and sustainable development. They also plan to undertake joint research projects and academic initiatives focused on emerging technologies.

Dr Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of Hindustan Group of Institutions, said the partnership aims to expand opportunities for students and researchers through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The collaboration aligns with HGI’s ongoing academic initiatives, including its International Certificate Programme on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and the IEEE International Conference on Latest Innovations in Computing and Knowledge (CLICK 2026).

The University of Southern Mindanao is recognised for its work in education, research, community engagement and sustainable development. Through the partnership, both institutions aim to promote long-term academic cooperation and global learning opportunities.
