University examinations have traditionally relied on printed question papers, handwritten answer sheets, manual evaluation and physical record-keeping. Consequently, many universities are beginning to adopt digital evaluation as conventional systems struggle to meet these evolving requirements.
Digital evaluation is transforming the examination process by replacing several manual steps with technology-enabled workflows. Institutions can use online assessments, digitised answer sheets, automated workflows and centralised evaluation platforms. These tools enable universities to conduct examinations with greater speed, consistency and oversight while reducing administrative challenges.
One of the most significant advantages is faster evaluation and result processing. In a paper-based system, answer sheets must be collected, transported, sorted, distributed to evaluators and assessed manually. Digital tools can streamline these stages by allowing evaluators to securely access assigned answer scripts from authorised locations. This can reduce logistical delays and enable universities to announce results more quickly.
