UNIVO Education has launched an AI Readiness Initiative aimed at building artificial intelligence literacy and practical skills among 10 million young people in India.
The programme begins with free, self-paced foundation courses covering AI fundamentals, prompting, responsible use and everyday productivity. Learners can later progress to role-based professional certifications and advanced specialisation programmes.
Designed for learners without a technical background, the online courses require no coding. The initiative targets students, early-career professionals, experienced employees and older learners seeking to understand and use AI in their daily lives and work.
“Within a few years, using AI will be as basic a skill as using a phone. The divide will not be between those with access to the technology and those without — it will be between those who can use it and those who cannot,” said Nitin Golani, CEO, UNIVO Education.
The applied certifications will offer university-backed credentials through UNIVO’s partnership with Amity University Online. The organisation is also developing AI-readiness programmes for companies and educational institutions.
The initiative supports the government’s focus on expanding AI education under the IndiaAI Mission, including specialised courses, fellowships and Data and AI Labs in smaller cities.
