GD Goenka Public School, Sector 48, Gurugram, organised ‘Moolaadhar – Investing in the Fundamentals of Life’, a programme for parents, students and educators focusing on values, health and financial literacy.
Aligned with the school’s annual theme, ‘Strengthening the Fundamentals of Life’, the programme examined the skills required to navigate uncertainty, including resilience, adaptability, emotional well-being and responsible decision-making.
Founder Principal Anuradha Handa opened the programme by discussing the role of integrity, empathy, gratitude, discipline and relationships in personal development. Using ductility as a metaphor, she explained the importance of adapting to pressure without losing one’s core values.
Critical care specialist Dr Alok Chandra Johari addressed physical, mental, emotional and social health. He introduced the framework of approximation, balance and command and discussed the importance of nutrition, sleep, movement, conversations and emotional regulation.
CA Govind Jhawar, Founder Chairman of FinIdeas and a SEBI-approved investment adviser, led a session on financial literacy. He discussed saving, responsible spending, investing and financial planning, while encouraging parents to introduce children to financial decision-making from an early age.
The programme concluded with an interactive session led by students, who asked questions about financial markets, investment planning and long-term wealth creation.
