Mumbai-based Garodia International Centre for Learning (GICLM) hosted its annual Global University Fair on August 7, bringing together representatives from more than 100 universities and institutions worldwide.

Universities from the US, UK, Canada, India, Australia, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Italy and Germany participated in the event. Students and parents from Grades 8 to 12 interacted with university representatives to learn about undergraduate programmes, admissions, scholarships, internships, campus life and career pathways.

“The IBDP encourages students to think beyond boundaries, and their university journey should be no different,” said Nishant Garodia, managing director of Garodia Education. “By bringing universities from across the world to our campus, we are creating a space where students can explore new possibilities, engage with different perspectives and envision the many pathways open to them.”

The fair included a session titled India’s New Gateway to Global Higher Education, which examined new-age Indian universities and overseas institutions establishing campuses in India.

Speakers included Arpit Ajmera, senior outreach manager for the University of Aberdeen’s Mumbai campus; Reetika Vadgaonkar from Eruditus; and GICLM’s university guidance counsellor.

The discussion covered the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, University of Aberdeen Mumbai, University of Liverpool Bangalore, University of York Mumbai, Illinois Tech Mumbai and Victoria University Delhi NCR. It addressed global curricula, industry exposure, international mobility and career opportunities offered by overseas universities operating in India.

Another session, The Future of Learning: Liberal Education and Holistic Development, was led by Neha Modi, senior manager for admissions outreach at FLAME University. It focused on critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, communication and creativity within liberal education.

“Choosing a university is one of the most significant decisions a young person makes,” said school principal Ian Davies. “Our University Fair provides IBDP students with the opportunity to engage with institutions from around the world, understand different academic pathways and make informed decisions about a future that reflects both their ambitions and their potential.”

The event was organised with support from the school’s leadership team, IBDP coordinator and university guidance counsellors.
