The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has launched a two-day national conference to showcase innovations in school education administration.

The conference has brought together around 84 district- and block-level education officers from 22 states and Union Territories to share approaches to challenges in implementing education programmes.

The initiatives cover digital classrooms, school infrastructure, resource mobilisation, community participation, teacher training, language and skills development, and measures to improve school functioning.

Rajya Sabha MP and BJP national general secretary Vinod Shridhar Tawde inaugurated the conference. NIEPA Chancellor Prof Rama Shanker Dubey, Vice-Chancellor Prof Shashikala Wanjari and other institute officials attended the event.

“The grassroots experiences shared by teachers and education officers are critical to making our reforms more responsive, inclusive and effective,” Tawde said.

The programme received nominations from across India, with 84 entries shortlisted for awards and certificates of appreciation. Participating officers will present their initiatives to peers and academic experts for discussion, documentation and possible adoption in other regions.

The conference is being held alongside NIEPA’s Awards for Innovations and Good Practices in Educational Administration for 2023–24 and 2024–25. Selected officers will be recognised at an awards ceremony on September 3.

NIEPA instituted the awards in 2013–14 to recognise and document field-level practices that could strengthen educational administration.
