Nineteen Indian institutions have featured in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, up from five in 2020, according to rankings released by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

India has five new entries this year, while three Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have secured positions among the world’s top 100 MBA providers.

IIM Bangalore is the highest-ranked Indian institution at joint 64th, followed by IIM Ahmedabad at joint 70th and IIM Calcutta at 95th. All three institutions, however, recorded a decline in their overall positions from the previous year.

IIM Bangalore ranked 29th globally for employability and second in Asia. IIM Ahmedabad was the only Indian institution in the global top 100 for entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, ranking 84th.

O.P. Jindal Global University, the highest-ranked new Indian entrant, was placed in the 171–180 band. Other new entrants included Jaipuria Institute of Management, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies and Vikrant University Gwalior. They were placed in the 301-plus category.

Woxsen School of Business ranked first in Asia and 33rd globally for diversity.

A total of 28 Indian institutions featured across the QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2027. Only the United States, the United Kingdom and France had more institutions represented.

Indian institutions recorded 41 entries in the specialised Business Master’s Rankings, up from 37 last year. These included 19 programmes in management, seven each in business analytics and finance, five in marketing and three in supply chain management.

Five Indian programmes were placed among the global top 100 in management and business analytics. IIM Bangalore ranked 31st in management and joint 60th in business analytics. IIM Ahmedabad ranked 46th in management, while IIM Calcutta was placed joint 57th in management and 96th in business analytics.

Globally, MIT Sloan topped the MBA ranking, followed by Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Penn Wharton. The rankings covered more than 420 MBA programmes across 65 countries and territories.
