St. George’s College, Mussoorie is a boys boarding school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations board. It has emerged as the most prestigious and much sought after educational institution over the 168 years since its establishment. It was established in the year 1853 by Fr. Barry and the Capuchin Friars with the objective of providing quality education to the students with English as a tool. It is an all boys’ residential and non-residential institution spread over 400 acres of land.
The school is spread over 400 acres of land in Mussoorie and is known for its beautiful campus and also for its unique blend of traditional and modern buildings. The school’s vintage campus — popularly known as Manor House — is distinguished by its magnificent clock tower block which houses senior dormitories and a billiards room. Offering scenic vistas of the Doon Valley and Mussoorie, the St. George’s College Mussoorie campus is an aesthetic blend of old-world buildings and new state-of-the-art academic, sports and co-curricular infrastructure. Academic facilities include 30 spacious ‘concept classrooms’ equipped with smart boards and digital flipbook facilities, state-of-the-art creative, science, computer science and geography labs, a well-stocked library with 10,000 volumes and 30 journal subscriptions, an 800-seats auditorium, dance studio and music rooms.
The school’s excellent sports, co-curricular and outdoor education facilities including a newly laid artificial green turf for football, volleyball and athletics, two synthetic plastic coated basketball courts, shooting range and an indoor multi sports complex. It is one among the few schools in Uttarakhand that provides indoor heated swimming pool, where the students are assisted by the swimming coach. St. George’s College is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and prepares students for the Indian Certificates of Secondary Education (ICSE) exams at grade X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams at grade XII. The school maintains a teacher-student ratio of 1:40. The total strength of students is 800 inclusive of 150 International students in the school.
The examinations are conducted for all classes in the month of June, September and November. A student who fails in English or in any two subjects will not be promoted. There is no policy of special exam, retest or promotion on trial.

The school offers admission to students of all communities and is based on the performance during the entrance test. Applying students need to clear a written test in English and Maths and the age should be nine years for class IV.
Admission for other classes depends on the availability of seats. The registration process takes place between April and August every year.
Fee:
The admission fee for class IV is Rs. 15,000 (non-refundable) and Rs 1,400 per month as tuition fees. The computer fees per annum is Rs. 5000, maintenance charges per annum Rs. 1500 and advance against stationery Rs. 5000. There is also a security deposit of Rs. 5000 (refundable).
