Vidyashilp Academy is a renowned co-educational day school founded in 1998. Enrolling around 2400 students from grades 1 to 12, the school is accredited by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) and the University of Cambridge International Examinations.

Vidyashilp Academy’s campus is designed to integrate learning spaces in the landscape as well as into spacious, well-equipped classrooms, an outdoor amphitheater for performance arts and outdoor classes, 14 indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and new-age media lab podcasting, print press and YouTube recording studio and many new inclusions such as a dedicated venture studio to encourage entrepreneurial thought and an exclusive earth and energy studio to promote curiosity about materials and environmental sciences study. The school library is well stocked with 31,500 books and other journals offering students an ideal study environment. The campus also features a swimming pool, volleyball, basketball, badminton, a full-size cricket field, football, and hockey fields, and indoor-sports facilities for chess, bridge, yoga, badminton, music, and sculpture centers.
Vidyashilp Academy is spread across 20 acres and houses a paper recycling unit, solar energy pre-heated water, and rain-water harvesting facilities. The school does not provide any accommodation facilities. It has a fleet of buses that provides transport facilities to its students.
Vidyashilp Academy follows the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) curriculum and the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum for students who wish to pursue it. The school follows a no homework and no exams policy till Grade 5 ensures enhanced academic performance. The interactive lesson plans supported by technology per se navigate into all areas of development: Intellectual, Emotional, Social, and Physical.
Vidyashilp Academy is affiliated with the CICSE and CAIE Boards. The school has developed an in-house project-based curriculum till Grade 6. Students are required to choose between IGCSE or ICSE curriculum for Secondary Schooling from Grades 8 to 12.
The pedagogy is streamlined to bring in the 4 C’s of learning: Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication & Collaboration, to make learning meaningful, engaging, and productive. Extracurricular
Vidyashilp has achieved several laurels in Sports over the years. The teams participate in around 40 – 50 Inter-School tournaments every academic year. Inter-School competitions are conducted in the school in almost all games. In addition, an annual sports day is hosted at school which resembles a ‘Mini Olympics’. Vidyashilp Academy follows a unique sports program that sets two activities for phase-I students per day and one sport activity for phase-2 students per day. An exceptionally large number of national level athletes thrive because the school is one of the few which considers sports an integral part of the curriculum and class activities are managed to give athletes the opportunity to attend tournaments.
Students are trained in a diverse range of disciplines in art from Phase 1 and are encouraged in Phase II to pursue their specializations in either photography or design mediums.
Kalai Selvi (principal)
The admission is solely based on the entrance exam, the student’s potential, and marks scored in the previous class. The admission procedure completes in May but sometimes it also depends on the availability of seats.
Vidyashilp Academy is India’s first Fairtrade School which joins a growing number of institutions the world over that is recognized as change makers.
Vidyashilp Academy is also committed to the creation of a merit-based society by empowering individuals through education. The school has adopted 21 government schools in Bengaluru through the Vidyashilp Community Trust.
Vidyashilp Academy hosted the 2017 closing ceremony of the Indian chapter of ‘Mission Possible’, an initiative by the United Nations Association’s agency WFUNA.
