The Indian School of Public Policy announced offering students the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Public Policy and International Development.

The certificate’s curriculum includes a series of workshops and lectures, organized by The University of Chicago Harris School Public Policy, to be held at ISPP and conducted by faculty, practitioners, and other experts connected to the University of Chicago. The first lecture in the series was recently delivered by Harris Senior Lecturer John Burrows on the topic of social capital and leadership. 

“I am extremely excited to see this collaboration take place, since I am an alumnus of the University of Chicago and a founder of the Indian School of Public Policy,” said Luis Miranda, Director, Indian School of Public Policy. Miranda is also founder and former Chairman, IDFC Private Equity; and a trustee of University of Chicago Trust in India. “At the ISPP, we believe strongly in the same academic rigor and data-based approach to public policy as Harris Public Policy.”

Founded earlier in 2019, the ISPP equips policy professionals with the intellectual capital to effectively address the governance challenges of our times and the future. The school’s first cohort of students, hailing from diverse professional backgrounds, commenced the one year course in Policy, Design and Management in August, 2019.

ISPP’s program is based on experiential learning, theoretical rigour, and a diverse approach to pedagogy and research of public policy aimed at exposing students to a rich palette of public policy nuances through various platforms.
