Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA) Gangtok, sited amidst a verdant backdrop of the Himalayas in Gangtok, Sikkim is an English medium, coeducational, residential cum day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi and offers education from lower kindergarten to class XII. It was promoted in 1926 by late Sir Tashi Namgyal and is counted among the premier schools in Sikkim.
The 12 acre school campus comprises an open air-theatre, a football ground, swimming pool, principal’s bungalow, 27 single and double unit staff quarters, fully equipped science and computer laboratories, a kitchen and a hostel dining hall, a large auditorium with a seating capacity of 600 including a gallery, spacious and well equipped classrooms, a science block, common rooms, workshops, an administrative block, and a well stocked library featuring over 25000 books . Sports facilities include three sports fields – one each for football, volleyball, basketball.
TNA is affiliated with CISCE and prepares the students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations at class X and XII respectively. The academic session of the school starts in February and ends in the first week of December. The school admits a maximum of 40 students in each class, ensuring individual attention to the students and special classes are held after school hours for slow learners.

TNA believes in holistic development of its students and promotes a wide range of extracurricular activities such as such as football, baseball, volleyball, cricket, athletics, cross-country race, and badminton, table tennis, gymnastic and swimming. It also provides training in mountaineering, trekking, weather reading and editing and publishing news bulletins. Western and classical, vocal and instrumental music like guitar, violin, sitar, tabla, and keyboard are also taught.
