Hiranandani Foundation School (HFS), Thane was promoted by Lakhumal Hiranand Hiranandani, the founder chairman of the school in 1999. The school is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and offers classes from nursery to class XII. HFS Thane is the sister school of Hiranandani Foundation School, Powai situated in Hiranandani Gardens, Powai.
Working on its motto, ‘Mens Sana In Corpore Sano’, which means, ‘A sound mind in a sound body’, the school lays emphasis on the holistic development of every child, and intends to “nurture students to bring about their overall development through ethics, morals, cultural awareness, physical fitness, academic excellence to help them become outstanding citizens of India and the world”.
HFS, Thane campus hosts state of the art infrastructure with various amenities for games, art, music and extra-curricular activities.
Spacious courts for outdoor sports such as basketball, football, and squash dot the campus along with a swimming pool for its young swimmers and divers. Extra coaching is also offered to those seeking to learn skating, table tennis, taekwondo, chess, athletics, swimming, football and basketball.
The school boasts five state-of-the-art science laboratories: two for physics, two for chemistry and one for biology. While three well-resourced computer laboratories adorn the IT section of the school, the latest smart boards can be seen in all classrooms to facilitate e-learning.

HFS, Thane is affiliated with CISCE and prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations at the end of class X and class XII respectively. The pre-primary curriculum at HFS, Thane has been carefully designed to help equip the child with the basic skills that promote observation, recognition, reasoning, and physical coordination. At the higher secondary level, students can choose between Commerce and Science streams.
Extracurricular: Alongside academics, the school lays emphasis on extracurricular activities such as sports, art, music, and drama. Special coaching classes are offered to students for honing their skills in sports such as skating, table tennis, taekwondo, chess, athletics, swimming, football and basketball.

The admission forms at HFS Thane are issued around January and have to be duly submitted on the date stipulated by the school. Tests and interviews are mandatory for each student seeking admission, which is granted on the basis of the results of the tests and interviews.
For the pre-primary section, candidates need to adhere to the age specifications and other directives issued by the government.

HFS Thane won 3 gold medals at the 9th Mumbai inter-school ICSE/ICS Acquatic Championships.
HFS Thane won the HFS Inter School Liga Basketball and Football Championship held in October 2012.
