A Bangalore-based teen rock band ‘Table for 4’ has composed music for a biker group ‘Bros On Wheels’ to celebrate World Motorcycle Day on June 21. This is the first original composition by the six-member band that was formed two years ago.

The band consists of members in the age group of 11 to 17 years. It has Vivek S on guitar, Deepak S on drums, Samrudhi Srinivas on rhythm guitar and vocals, Neha Narayanan on vocals, Devi Menon and Malavika Rajendran on keyboards. Vivek says they are excited and can’t wait for the release of the song Ride, play, celebrate. “It was a good experience. We composed the song in two days. We have kept it simple. The rock music goes well with the biking experience. It’s all about the journey of bikers and exploring new things,” he says.

He adds even though he is not into bikes, it wasn’t a challenge to understand and compose music. “We are primarily a rock band but we play all genres of music. So, it wasn’t a challenge to compose a rock music for Bros on Wheels. We would like to thank them for giving us the opportunity,” he says. The music has been composed in such a way that the keyboard notes depict the feel of exploring new things, guitar gives the illusion of riding and speed and drums give the rock n roll feel to the entire song.

Table for 4

The name of the band ‘Table for 4’ also suggests variety of music. Vivek explains, “When we dine together, different people order different food. Hence, my uncle decided to keep the name as Table for 4 to indicate that we serve different kinds of music on our ‘table’ of music. The number 4 does not indicate the number of musicians on the band.”

The teen band plays different genres such as rock, metal, pop, jazz and regional music. “You name it and we provide it,” says Vivek’s uncle Pradeep Kiran who manages and trains the band. Kiran is also a bass guitarist and jams with the band on certain occasions. “The lyrics was shared with us about 15 days ago. As Vivek was down with dengue, we could not work on the song for a while. It got finalised only two days ago after mixing and mastering the composition. The song has come out well,” says Kiran.

Rock music and bikes

Sujith Kumar, founder of Bros on Wheels Official says, “One thing I have always found is that motorcycles and rock music seem to go well together since classic vintage times. Almost all bike festivals, music videos on motorcycles, biker cafes have always had great taste for rock music. It wouldn’t just seem right to sit in silence during this pandemic for a long time, especially with your biker buddies when you could be jamming at home to create a great song for the community. This is our second anniversary and we thought what could be a better time than now to celebrate with a teen rock band in Bangalore.”

The song celebrates the freedom a biker feels when he hits the open roads. The song will be officially launched today (June 19) on the social media handles of Bros on Wheels during their live interaction at 8 pm. Stay tuned!
