The Gurukul, Panchkula, Haryana is a co-educational day school, affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Established in 2001, the school also offers the Cambridge Assessment International Primary Language Programme. The teacher student ratio is 1:25. The objective of the school is to offer a contemporary 21st century education rooted in traditional values.
The Gurukul offers its students global exposure through foreign trips, interactions with international dignitaries and video conferences with students across the world. It also facilitates holistic development through yoga and meditation.
In addition to sports and extra-curricular activities, children encouraged to participate in the programmes of the Eco Club, Peace Club, Heritage Club and Health & Wellness Club.
The Gurukul buildings feature large, airy, colourful classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with a centralized broadcasting system. The school also boasts well-equipped science and computer laboratories, a library, and a play area.
There are interactive touch screen boards in all the classrooms to facilitate ICT-enabled learning. Aesthetically designed activity rooms, storytelling corners, junior gymnasium, math, science and language labs are provided. The futuristic Robotics Lab engages the interest and curiosity of the children.
Sports facilities include basketball, skating, cricket, gymnastics, athletics, volleyball, kho-kho as well as indoor facilities for sports such as table tennis, table soccer, carrom and chess.
Day Care
Hostel accommodation is not provided, but an ‘After-School Day Care’ programme is available for students. They are provided with nutritious meals, homework assistance, extra coaching, recreation and transport.
The school offers education from pre-nursery to class XII and is affiliated with CBSE. The school follows the activity-based Early Learning Development Programme till class V, which uses experiential and hands-on learning techniques and pedagogies. CBSE’s Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system is followed.
The Gurukul also offers the Cambridge International Primary Language Programme.
Extra-curricular
The school encourages students to participate in various activity clubs such as western and classical dance, dramatics, karate, home science and creative arts. Regular inter-house competitions are organized. Students participate in outdoor sports such as basketball, skating, cricket, gymnastics, athletics, volleyball, kho-kho as well as indoor sports like table tennis, table soccer, carrom and chess.
‘School cinema’ is used to teach life skills and values.

Notification for admission for all classes is usually made around October every year, and admission is done in November-December. Minimum admission age is 18 months for pre-nursery, and 3.5 years for nursery. Selection is made on the basis of an informal interaction between parents and the school admissions panel. Selection for class I and above is made on the basis of a written test-cum-interaction with the child.
In an eco-friendly initiative, The Gurukul has an online admission process. Only online registration is possible, and the dates will be announced in leading dailies, around October every year.
