Meridian School, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad is the flagship school set up by the Meridian Educational Society in 1995. It is a coeducational day school with classes from nursery to class XII and is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and also follows the IB PYP curriculum. With a student strength of 2000, the school follows the policy of “no child left behind” and has been achieving 100 percent pass percentage with every batch appearing for the board exams.
Meridian Educational Society was founded by B.S. Neelakanta and B. Renuka who are the secretary and correspondent respectively.
The school campus is built on a 1.5 acre plot with a multi storied main building. The well ventilated classrooms are furnished with imported furniture and equipped with smart interactive white boards, plasma screens and other audio visual equipments for proactive teaching.
The school hosts an air conditioned dining hall, large conference halls, four state-of-the-art computer labs with latest configuration and operating systems, three specialized science labs, a modern math lab, spacious activity rooms, a preprimary block with a play area and an air conditioned library with over 14,000 books comprising encyclopedias, reference books and fiction, magazines and newspapers for all age groups.
Meridian School, Banjara Hills Campus follows the CBSE and IB PYP curricula and employs a participatory teaching methodology and the learning process includes discussions, case studies, investigations, problem solving, role play, project work and field trips for students to develop a sense of community discipline through interaction with nature, people, objects and the environment.
Seminars, guest lectures, and workshops also form an integral part of the school curriculum. The teachers follow a child-centric methodology to foster confidence and develop the aesthetic, social, critical and analytical skills through an integrated method. The feedback received is used for remediation for enhancement of individual performance.
The school has tied up with Hey Math and NIIT to provide the software and other tools for extended teaching and classrooms are equipped with digital interactive boards for enhanced learning experience.
The faculty comprises highly qualified and experienced teachers, well trained to use the latest technology for imparting education. Workshops, guest lectures, and exchange programs are continually held to upgrade pedagogy.
Extracurricular: The extracurricular activities at Meridian School include gymnastics, roller skating, taekwondo, chess, basketball, cricket, football, table tennis, music, dance, art and craft, sculpture and yoga, all of which are conducted by qualified activity teachers. The school also facilitates music lessons, including keyboard, guitar and jazz drums, western dance, drawing, painting and sculpture.
The school also has an Afterschool Club for children who need extra help in both academics and non-academic skills.

The school has bagged many laurels at the Asian Karate Championship, international events in rifle shooting, Duke University’s Talent Identification Program and Infosys Technologies’ Catch Them Young program.
In the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSSE) held in 2011 and 2012, two of the school’s students were awarded Science Higher Education scholarship by the Ministry of Human Resource for being among the top achievers in the science stream and four students have received merit certificates from the CBSE board for securing the top 1 percent marks in class XII board examination.
