Salwan Public School (SPS), sited at Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi is a coeducational day school promoted in 1953 by the Salwan Educational Trust, which was founded by Late Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan.
The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE), New Delhi and boasts excellence in academics as well as extracurricular pursuits of its students. The school maintains a teacher student ration of 1:20 and the teachers are well trained to assist students with learning difficulties. The school offers a special education program for the visually impaired students and part-time special educators have been engaged for supplementing regular classroom instructions.
The school campus hosts a well stocked library featuring a collection of nearly 25,000 books; the school also offers an amphitheatre, a fully air-conditioned multipurpose hall with a seating capacity of nearly 250 members, a dispensary with four beds managed by a full time qualified nurse and attendant, an in-house book shop and a cafeteria that served nutritious, healthy, hygienic and tasty meals and snacks.
The campus facilities also include a world-class biotech laboratory and general science lab, two computer labs, a robotics lab, a chemistry lab and a physics lab deals with the study of nature and natural phenomenon.
The activity block houses a music room equipped with various musical instruments, a fully air-conditioned dance room fitted with large mirrors, an art room aesthetically designed for activities like clay modeling, drawing and craft. The air conditioned multipurpose gym has 30 stations for physical fitness, yoga and other exercises.
Sports facilities include three fields – one for training athletes in field events, the second is a cricket pitch and two practice pitches, a football ground, two basketball courts and two volleyball courts. There is also a special play area for the tiny tots equipped with a skating rink and swings.
The school is affiliated with CBSE and offers classes from pre-primary to senior secondary. Students can opt between Commerce, Science and Humanities streams in class XI.

Admission to class XI is subject to merit, based on marks obtained in class X Board exams and availability of seats.
Admission to other classes is subject to vacancies. The admission process starts in February and a written test is conducted in the last week of March, only for vacant seats.
The school took efforts in getting the forest department and government of NCT to sign an MOU for cleaning, maintaining and bringing back the greenery at the Central Ridge, which has become a dumping ground in the city.
