DAV (Dayanand Anglo-Vedic) Public School, Amritsar was established in 1982. The school began its operations in the B.B.K. canteen with 200 students and 12 teachers. Today the school enrolls more than 7,000 students and 438 teaching and non-teaching staff.
The objective of the school is to provide “quality education” to students. It offers education from nursery to class XII. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (DAV) society is the single largest non-government education society in India. It is based on the ideals of religious and social reformer, Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The DAV group holds the record of producing the largest number of CBSE toppers in the past ten years. Currently the society manages 667 institutions including 461 DAV schools.
