Laxman Public School (LPS), Delhi is a co-educational school established in 1978 by Shri Laxman Prasad Aggarwal. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), it is an English medium institution offering classes from pre-nursery to class XII.
Ranked among the top schools in Delhi, LPS focuses on the holistic development of its students. Says a school spokesperson: “The school believes in imparting holistic education to the students which will lead to the development of three H’s – Head, Heart and Hand – to efficiently discharge their duties to themselves, the community and the nation as a whole.”

The school has been awarded ‘The International School Award (ISA)’ of the British Council for promotion of globalization in its school programme.
The school is housed in an imposing red brick structure in the Hauz Khas Enclave of South Delhi. Spread over 8 acres, the school building is enclosed by a flora belt comprising lawns and gardens.
There are three playgrounds for basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton etc. Facilities for sports and extra-co-curricular activities such as table tennis, gymnastics and aerobics, skating, yoga, dance, vocal and instrumental music, arts and crafts, clay modeling, batik, tie and die etc, are offered. LPS is the first school in Delhi to host a science park.
It has five open-air theaters, chemistry, science, maths and computer clubs including an eco-friendly club for innovative learning. The school also offers state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories and separate libraries for the junior and senior sections.
The school provides separate hostels for boys and girls above 11 years of age. The hostel has spacious dormitories and single occupancy rooms as well.

In classes XI-XII, the following streams are offered: engineering group, medical group, commerce (with and without maths) and humanities.

Admission forms are available in January for pre-nursery. Children aged 3 years on March 31 (in the year seeking admission) are eligible for admission into pre-nursery. Seats are reserved for the economically weak and other disadvantaged sections of the society besides children of school staff.
The school principal, Dr. Usha Ram, is chairperson of the National Progressive School Conference comprising more than 120 schools from across India. In 1997, she was honored with the ‘Rajya Shikshak Award’ by the Government of Delhi in 1997.
