St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Trivandrum, is an English medium government aided K-12 boys school affiliated to the Kerala State Board of Education. It is one of the oldest schools in the city, having been founded by the Carmelite Missionaries in 1857. The school was later placed under the patronage of theLatin Catholic Archdiocese of Trivandrumin 1998 and was then aided by theGovernment of Kerala. Sri Madhava Rao, the then Dewan of the erstwhile Travancore declared St. Joseph’s as a recognized school of the Travancore state at a public meeting held at the school campus on January 18, 1905.

St. Joseph’s H.S.S is a fertile ground for the budding talents of all times. Young achievers from this school have bagged several laurels in state level cultural competitions. Deployed under the two service wings – Army wing and Air wing, the NCC cadets of the school are adjudged as the best NCC unit in Trivandrum.
The school is ranked among the top boys day schools in India by the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2020-21.
