Cathedral Vidya School, Lonavla has downed its shutters after running for 14 successful years. The school, which had opened its doors back in 2008 to empower students has now decided that the current academic year of 2021- 22 will be its last. The school authorities were forced to take this decision after failing to cope up with the endless slew of financial challenges brought upon by the Covid 19 pandemic. 

During its stint, Cathedral Vidya School, Lonavala was in partnership with The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai, it acted as the catalyst to many success stories and has groomed several conscientious members of the society. “We are proud of its rich heritage and we shall stand by its founding ethos of ‘Studies Achieves Renown’. Over its years of existence, CVSL has not only emerged as a leading school of the country but also held itself to high academic standards, evident through many accolades and awards conferred upon the Institution,” said Vineet Nayyar, Executive Vice Chairman of the school.

Various residential schools across India have also  been facing unreasonable amounts of operational strain resulting in great financial difficulties, adds Nayyar. CVSL being no exception, conducted multiple rounds of deliberations, planning and leadership discussions for ensuring continuity and viability. However, due to the inability of CVSL to become a financially viable entity, the Management of CVSL had to take the decision to wind down the operations of CVSL, said he. 

“We thank all the parents and their wards at the school for their support and encouragement that made all the difference at CVSL. We also thank our staff members for augmenting the CVSL attributes and nurturing the young minds to become responsible global citizens, added Nayyar.
