A family treat

Good enough parenting

Everyone loves food, and making meals together is a great way to bond with your family. Here are some family treat recipes that your kids will love.

Chocolate rocks (20 units)

Homemade truffles are great any time. But don’t leave them out too long or they will melt.

You will need:

Nutella Hazelnut spread – 1 bottle (at room temperature)
Chocolate-flavoured corn flakes – 1/2 cup
Mixed nuts (walnuts, almonds, cashews) – ½ cup
Butter paper – 1 sheet

Let’s make it:

1. Crush the nuts and cornflakes coarsely by placing them between two sheets of newspaper and pounding them with a rolling pin.
2. Place the Nutella paste in a bowl.
3. Add the crushed mixture into it and gently fold it in with a spoon.
4. Drop the mixture by spoonfuls on a sheet of butter paper and place it in the FREEZER.
5. Remove it only when you want to eat it. Each chocolate rock peels off easily from the paper.
6. Chocolate rocks can be made ahead of time and frozen. Place them in individual muffin cups and serve.

Mint-watermelon iced tea (5-6 glasses)

This refreshing drink soothes the stomach and gives you energy for sporty summer days!

You will need:

Tea bags – 20
Water – 1 liter
Sugar – 6-8 tbsps (depending on taste)

2.Turn off the heat and hold the tea bags, 10 in each hand. Dip them inside the water.
3. You will have to patiently count up to 300 if you want good seepage!
4. Remove the tea bags and add the sugar.
5. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
6. Add the watermelon and mint and refrigerate.
7. Add a few ice cubes before serving.

Note: Wear gloves while holding the teabags in the hot water.
