Dhruv Bhargava, a student of Class XII of Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurugram, has been selected by three prestigious Ivy League Universities of the world- University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia USA, Columbia University, New York, USA and Brown University, Rhode Island, USA. In addition, Dhruv has also been selected by other world-renowned Universities including Georgia Tech, Duke University, USC, Washington Seattle, University of Michigan, University of Massachusetts, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Purdue University, University Of Toronto, McGill University, University of Alberta, Queens University, McMaster University and University of British Columbia. Ivy League Universities have a great reputation for academic excellence and are internationally recognized as the most prestigious institutions of Higher Education.

A student blessed with an interdisciplinary approach and engaging mind to combine his skills in tech with that of a concern for his surroundings, Dhruv started an initiative called ‘DigiRoots India’, as part of the Technology club in school, during the time of COVID-19. This initiative endeavoured to spread digital literacy to the most remote parts of India, including artisans in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.  Today, the initiative partners with the WTO, UNESCO and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts and has tutored over 2000 artisans in e-commerce and digital security, in multiple states. He has represented his school in several competitions including the Dhananjay Mohan Science Fair where he won the first prize because of his prototype– ‘VNeed- Unifying Communities’. Dhruv also held the position of the President of Interact–the community service club of the school. Under this role, he forged a collaboration between the school and the local government. Meeting with the Commissioner of Gurgaon for an initiative at the state level known as ‘Gurujal’, which is an integrated water management initiative, aiming to address the issues of water scarcity, ground-water depletion, flooding and stagnation in the Gurugram District of Haryana.

Dhruv has made significant contributions at internships and research projects he took up and scored a perfect 36/36 in the ACT. He was nominated by the school for the National Young Leaders Award, a flagship program under the vision of our Prime Minister to recognize and reward outstanding work done by the Indian youth. Driven by Science & Innovation, Dhruv’s ambition is to be a future leader in the scientific world and transform the world, thereby making it a better place to live in.
