Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow organised its first annual fest on a grand scale on March 4 and 5. The Technical, Management, Literary, Cultural and Sports festival has been organised on state level with more than 500 colleges participating with more than 700 teams from each corner of the state. The best of the bests competed at the nodal centre, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad in the finale of technical, literary and management events. The finale teams included 231 students from 41 colleges from across Uttar Pradesh. The selected teams from zonal competitions competed at ABES for the biggest title and to win exciting prizes.
The two day fest attracted guests and dignitaries from across the state. The event showcased exposition of anything worth showcasing during the fest. The inauguration ceremony was done by chairman, Ved Prakash Goel, general secretary, Neeraj Goel, director Dr. Surendra Kumar and director Operations, Sachin Goel. The fest featured various events including AD MAD Show, English Debate, Maze Runner, Road Rash, Code Rush wherein teams participating from SRMS College of Engineering & Technology, Barelly, Anand College of Pharmacy, Agra, Hi-Tech Institute of Engineering & Technology, Ghaziabad and ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad bagged gold medals. Other institutes were felicitated with silver and bronze medals.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kumar said, “This is for the first time that the university has organised its annual fest on such a large scale and we are glad that ABES EC was selected to be its State Nodal Centre. Moreover, I would like to congratulate the students participated in the events and would hope for more such events in future.”
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony on March 5 wherein the chief guest was Dr. (Colonel) Surendra Patnaik (Group Manager, Tech Mahindra).
