The ABVP-led Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) is on the go to fund education of over 50 students hailing from economically weaker sections of the society.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishad affiliated to RSS said the selection process of such students has begun. In order to enrol for the process, the students should apply through an online form released by the DUSU. The names of the selected students will be declared during the first week of August.
Shedding more light on this, the DUSU president Shakti Singh said, “During on-going DU admissions, many students have approached us for help. We have decided to fund 50 such students. Apart from this, it will be our effort to get help from other civil society members as well as from state.”
The students union has sent letters requesting the social workers, Delhi MPs and other important ministers to help students hailing from the weaker economic backgrounds.
Earlier, Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) had already announced to pay one-year fees of students taking admissions in Delhi University hailing from martyr’s family or of farmers who committed suicide burdened by the bank loans.
