Ahead of CBSE exams, school issues letter to parents saying marks aren’t everything

International Indian School, Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Ahead of the CBSE Board exams 2020, for classes 10 and 12, the principal of International Indian School – Damman, Saudi Arabia circulated a letter to all parents saying about how scoring tops marks is not everything in a child’s life. In the letter, he wrote, “If your child does get top marks, that’s great! But if he or she doesn’t, please don’t take away their self-confidence and dignity from them. Tell them it’s OK, it’s just an exam! They are cut out for much bigger things in life. Tell them, no matter what they score, you love them and will not judge them.”

The letter, which gained applauds of approval from social media ended with a sweet note saying that if parents don’t judge them, one day they will watch their kids “conquer the world” and that doctors and engineers are not the only happy people in the entire world.

The circular was also uploaded on the school’s official website.
