The Eco Club of Ahlcon Public School has been a central club of the school since 1997. The club took one more step in its journey in August 2019 by adopting the DDA park, often called ‘Supreme park’, under the ‘Launching Scheme’ in affiliation with the Delhi Development Authority. This adopted park has now become an inseparable part of Ahlcon Public’s School’s activities. In future, the school also plans to make vermi-composting pits and install blue and green bins in the park to teach students segregation and treatment of biodegradable waste, organise cleanliness and plantation drives.
Students make regular visits to the park and work with the gardeners to plant saplings, water, nurture and care for their adopted plants. The school believes strongly that learning by doing builds greater concern for the environment and a sense of belongingness to the community that students are a part of.
Ahlcon Public school endeavours to cultivate good values among students in addition to imparting knowledge, and hopes to continue these eco-friendly projects and several more to make all students ready to be a constructive citizen of this planet.
