Allabahd HC seeks govt’s stand on school fee exemption for lockdown period

Allahabad HC directs NTA to provide petitioner’s original OMR sheet

June 13, 2024

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to present the original documents of a student who claims she has not received her NEET result yet. The bench, presided over by Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan, set June 18 as the next hearing date for the case.

The order was issued in response to a writ petition filed by student Aayushi Patel, who alleged that the NTA had failed to declare her results and that her OMR sheet was damaged. Patel requested a manual evaluation of her OMR sheet and urged for an inquiry into the actions of the NTA, also requesting a halt to the exam counselling.

She stated that her OMR sheet remained intact, but the NTA notified her that her results would not be declared due to the sheet being torn. In opposition, the NTA provided the original OMR sheet, scorecard, and attendance sheet of the petitioner, questioning why she continued to send emails despite this evidence.

During the proceedings, the court observed discrepancies between the application number on the student’s OMR sheet and the one mentioned in her emails. The court instructed both parties to submit the original documents during the next hearing.
