A high-level delegation from Western Sydney University, Australia comprising of Prof. Deborah Sweeney, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Western Sydney University, Australia along with Ms. Inu Rana, Launchpad Senior Business Advisor, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh. The aim of the visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration in areas including Dual & Joint Degrees, Joint PhD & Research initiatives, campus -in campus opportunities, amongst others.
Highlighting the purpose of the visit, Professor Deborah Sweeney, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Research, Enterprise and International), averred, “Western Sydney University, Australia and Amity have had a long standing and our University hosted the first batch of SAP students in Australia and the students of Amity have visited Western Sydney University, Australia for their Summer Internships. In addition, the University has also been a part of many Programmes and Guest Lectures organized by Amity. We would like to further strengthen our relationship by exploring the various areas of collaboration including medicine, engineering, psychology, science, research & innovation and other common areas of focus at both Universities, so that we can draw synergies by learning and sharing knowledge with each other.”
Emphasizing upon the potential areas of collaboration, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, stated, “Amity is extremely delighted to collaborate with Western Sydney University Australia through articulation in the areas of Psychology, Mass Communication, International Relations, participation of the University in India Immersion Program, hosting SAP in Sydney, offering dedicated space to each other through campus-in-campus and explore joint mechanism to work on innovation incubation.”
During the Programme, a presentation on “Research and Innovation at Amity”, was also made by Dr. A. Chakraborty, Deputy Director General, Amity Foundation for Science Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) and the Programme was attended by the Head of Institutions and Senior Faculty members of Amity who also introduced themselves to the guests. The visit concluded with the felicitation of guests and a campus familiarization tour.
