Anant School for Climate Action, India’s first Climate School in Ahmedabad, India, has announced the opening of admissions for its B.Tech programme specialising in Climate Change. The undergraduate engineering degree is India’s first specialised engineering programme focusing on climate technologies and innovation. By enrolling in this programme, students have the opportunity to be part of the $23 trillion global climate industry opportunities. The Round III deadline for the applications is 31st July 2023. Students with Gujarat domicile can also apply through ACPC website for Round II registrations.
The B.Tech. Programme at AnantU is a four-year, full-time course where students learn to develop technology solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change. They also gain hands-on experience by participating in live industry climate projects at the Climate Lab from their first day of joining. The curriculum is designed to provide students with incremental learning across eight climate technology streams, focusing on applied research in the Climate Lab. In the final two semesters, students can choose specialised courses based on their interests and engage in full industry immersion. They can specialise in using climate technologies for business or policy and gain a deeper understanding of climate technology.
An important aspect of the programme is the mandatory industry immersion in the final semester. Students will be placed in the growing climate economy, guided by industry professionals and academic mentors. The Anant School for Climate Action works with leading academic partners from around the world including The Villars Institute, Switzerland and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA. The institution also collaborates with companies and organisations involved in climate action: Sustain Labs Paris, The Commonwealth secretariat, London and Initiatives of Change (IofC), UK.
Recently, the students of B.Tech in Climate change did their internship with organisations such as Bharti Airtel, the Commonwealth Secretariat, London and String Bio amongst others. Placement opportunities will be provided by Sustain Labs Paris, the career partner of Anant School for Climate Action.
Eligibility: High school graduate with at least 3 subjects: computer sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology. All Indian and international high school boards are accepted. There is no bar on the age of applicants.
