Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said on June 24 that the state government was committed to provide quality education to the less privileged children.
Addressing a public meeting at Anakapalli after inaugurating a ‘Model School’ at Thegada village in Kasimkota mandal in the district, he said that the state government has earmarked Rs 27,000 crore in the budget for education for the current year.
The chief minister said the government has decided to open 355 model schools in the first phase and 400 schools in the second phase.
The construction of 300 schools has completed and the work on the remaining schools would be completed soon, he said adding the model schools would fulfil the aspiration of the poor parents.
