Army Public School, Dagshai, Himachal Pradesh is a co-educational boarding school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The school is situated atop the Dagshai hills and is the brain child of Lt. Gen. K. Sunderji, PVSM and Lt. Gen. R. S. Dayal, PVSM, MVC, ADC. It was established on June 1, 1986 under the aegis of HQ Western Command.
Situated in Dagshai, one of the oldest cantonments in India, the 40-acre school stands like a sphinx astride the Kalka-Shimla Highway at a distance of about 11 kms from Solan. The school has well-equipped and well-maintained computer centers with 102 computers on the networks. The school’s auditorium has a seating capacity of around 500.
The school provides excellent well-stocked library and reading room facility.
The smart classrooms are spacious and well furnished with a seating capacity of 30 students and the school cafeteria serves food that has been cooked under hygienic conditions.
It is a coeducational residential school, affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and a member of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference. The first batch was started with 78 boys and 11 girls. New students are admitted to class V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and XI. The school prepares its class X students for the All India Secondary School Examination and those of class XII for the All India Senior Secondary School Examination.

The admission is on the basis of performance in the written entrance test taken on the third Sunday of February at various centers. The students should register themselves before appearing for the test. The last date for registration for admission to classes V, VI and VII is December 31 while for the other classes it is February end.
