A unique Teacher’s Day celebration held at Arya Gurukul, Ambernath, after 2 years of Online events, gave insightful inputs to teachers to take care of their outward appearance and maintain overall physical well-being. The event was attended by more than 200 members of staff of Arya Gurukul Ambernath, Nandivali, St. Mary’s High School, Kalyan and Little Aryans Pre-K on 5th September 2022.
This event reflected a turning point in the history of the schools, as teachers came together to celebrate this day after 2 years.
To make the day meaningful, AryaGlobal held an eye-opening session by Vaishnavi Shoor, Image Consultant. She gave sound tips for teachers to uplift their own personalities. “Teachers are the face of society and are role models for children, so they must pay special attention to the way they dress up and conduct themselves. It is important that children see their teachers dressed elegantly and appear confident so that they can emulate the same,” said Shoor.
Further, a valuable talk by Dr. Leena Dhande, physiotherapist, gave information on maintaining good physical posture. It has been observed, that post-pandemic many individuals have been complaining of posture-induced aches and pains and teachers have been the most affected by it. They were sitting for long hours, and often used wrong postures or uncomfortable seats. Dr. Dhande threw much-needed light on paying attention to ‘ergonomics’ and demonstrated some simple exercises that they can do during the day.
“To appear confident one needs to pay attention to health and wellness. Maintaining a good posture not only gives an appearance of confidence but also ensures that one is away from physical ailments”, said Dr. Dhande. Going forward she has assured that the same workshop can be conducted for both parents and children, as they have been sufferers of pandemic-induced issues too.
The special guests invited for the event were Dr. Haripal Sonawat, Former Scientist, TIFR; Dr. Reeta Sonawat, Former Dean & HOD Human Development, SNDT Women’s University; Swamini Nishkalananda, Acharya Chinmaya Mission, Kalyan; Bharat Malik, Chairman, Education Today Foundation; Nilesh Rathor, Principal, Arya Gurukul Ambernath; Radhamani Iyer, Principal, Arya Gurukul Nandivali; Divya Borse, Principal, St. Mary’s High School and the Centre Heads of Little Aryans Pre-K.
This program was organised by the teachers and for the teachers.
The heart-warming performances by the dance and music departments created an aura of love and appreciation in the air. A special skit portrayed the many aspects of a teacher’s life.
The principals in their speeches expressed that teaching is much more than a profession and means nurturing lives, building trust and continuing to be lifelong learners.
Bharat Malik, Chairman ETF, said, “The most important stakeholders in our system are the children, parents and the guru. The Gurus are the ones who create a great impact on the mind of a child and hence must work on themselves while keeping the focus on the child.”
He spoke of the motto of the school being ‘Happy Child Happy Nation’ and the role of teachers in creating a ‘Happy Child’. He also paid homage to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s day throughout India.
AryaGlobal believes their teachers must be empowered and well equipped to be able to shape the future minds. Therefore, they organise many programs throughout the year for the teachers such as Teacher Edurichment sessions, training programs, skill development and competency building programs, Annual Review and Planning Meets. This keeps the teachers encouraged and abreast with the latest in education.
Currently, all the teachers of AryaGlobal group of Schools are Microsoft Innovative Educator certified and experts in the use of technology while teaching.
The ones who shape the minds of the future, who provide important life lessons, and equip children with the knowledge to lead a successful life definitely deserve to be appreciated. Teacher’s Day is one such occasion. The AryaGlobal Group of Schools took this opportunity to express their appreciation for their teachers by putting together a special event for their teachers to enjoy a relaxed day filled with joy, laughter and self-care. The event ended with a scrumptious lunch served for the teachers who enjoyed this day dedicated to them.
