The Asian Union comprising of more than two dozen International Universities for collaborations was launched during the mega International Research Conference- 20th INBUSH ERA World Summit. The three-day conference organized by Amity International Business School (AIBS) began today on the theme “The Challenge of Change: Strategies for Managing Business in Technology Driven Societies” at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus.
Amity University also announced setting up of international campuses in Spain, France, Poland, Kazakhstan and Russia along with signing MoUs with University of Grenoble, France; University of Valladolid, Spain; WSG University, Poland; Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Far Eastern Federal University, Russia.
Welcoming the distinguished galaxy of delegates from across the globe, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Vice Chancellor and Director General – AIBS & Amity University shared that at Amity, students are encouraged to dream big and work towards bringing constructive changes in the society. He also highlighted that during three-day Summit, 700 research papers will be presented.
Honorary Professorship was conferred upon Prof. Mike Hinchey, IFIP President, Past Chair IEEE UK & Ireland, Emeritus Director, Lero- the science foundation Ireland Centre for Software. Prof Hinchey in his keynote address shared that the world is increasingly being seen as a Cyber-Physical Social system. “All businesses in the future will be conducted using different types of software and communications. The demand for large, complex systems is rising exponentially. We need to migrate software development from a craft to a professional discipline with appropriately educated specialists,” stated Prof. Hinchey. Looking at the future demand that would involve much more complex and smarter systems Prof. Hinchey averred that we need to enable active participation by customers in the software ecosystem and make software development customer led.
Sharing his views, Prof. Nick Petford, Vice President, University of Northampton, UK averred that it was important for international universities to develop partnerships to give their students a global environment to make them grow. He further shared how we were living in a world dominated with technology that can assist students in understanding concepts better. Prof. Petford also stated that such platforms provides and opportunity for collaborations that further assist in the growth and development of students.
Ajit K Chauhan, Chairman, Amity Online stated that the presence of global luminaries in the 20th edition of INBUSH ERA 2020 was a validation of the great work being carried across all campuses of Amity University. “I would urge all the students to learn from the global gathering present here,” shared Mr. Chauhan also sharing his desire to foster future collaborations with the participating universities.
The inauguration was followed by Panel Discussion on “Future of Higher Education: Challenges & Opportunities for International Universities” with eminent panelists including Mr. Brian Stevenson, President & CEO – NAVITAS, USA; Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Martín, Director Fundación Casa de la India,Valladolid, Spain; Prof. Alexey S. Koshel, Vice President for General Affairs, Far Eastern Federal University; Prof Olha Illyash, Vice Rector, International University of Finance, Kiev, Ukraine and Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor, UTP Malaysia.
Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Martín, Director Fundación Casa de la India, Valladolid, Spain shared how this platform was a wonderful opportunity for the two huge markets of India and Spain to grow and engage with each other. “Indian student inflow is growing in Spain and that is just the tip of the iceberg. We should increase our bilateral cooperation through multi-lateral opportunities and increase Public Privat Partnerships,” stated Dr. Martin.
Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Mr. Krzysztof Sikora, Founder & President of WSG University, Poland. Amity Global Academic Excellence Awards were conferred upon Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Martín, Director Fundación Casa de la India, Valladolid, Spain; Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor, UTP Malaysia; Prof Olha Illyash, Vice Rector, International University of Finance, Kiev, Ukraine; Prof. Galym Mutanov, Rector, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Dr. Philip Sikora, Chancellor WSG University of Economy Bydgoszcz, Poland.
For fostering Diplomatic Relations with India, gold medal was awarded to Dato’ Hidayat bdul Hamid, High Commissioner, Embassy of Malaysia; H.E. Mr. Federico Salas Lotfe, Ambassador of Mexico to India; H.E. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of Czech Republic to India; H.E. Mr. Hector B. Cueva, Ambassador of Ecuador to the Republic of India; H.E.
