Azim Premji Foundation invites applications for its Fellowship Programme 2019-20

Bangalore based Azim Premji Foundation has announced its annual Fellowship Programme 2019-20.
Building on the experiences and learning of the past six fellowship batches, the programme has been redesigned into a one year format. The programme is for people who have done exceptional work in their field and are now interested in improving teaching learning in government schools. The one year programme involves teaching at a government school to develop a deep understanding of the public education system.

Applications are invited from aspirants with 4 to 10 years of work experience in any sector, with a full-time postgraduate or a 4-year professional degree in any discipline and the desire to contribute to quality and equity in education. Proficiency in English and a local language (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu) is a must.

The monthly stipend offered would be Rs. 35,000 (all inclusive). After successful completion of the one year programme, Fellows who wish to build their career in the social sector will take on the role of a teacher educator. In this role, they will help teachers teach better and children learn better.

The selection is based on an evaluation of a statement of purpose and an online test followed by personal interviews. Fellows will join us in the last week of March 2019. They will be posted in the blocks of the districts of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttarakhand, where the Foundation currently works through its Field Institutes.
