Bangalore University to commence online classes

Bangalore University has decided to commence online classes for all the final semester (Semester IV) postgraduate students and even semester (Semester II, IV, VI and VIII) undergraduate students this year in the wake of the alarming rise in Covid-19 cases across the country.

In a memo sent to the deans and principals of all Bangalore University affiliated colleges, vice chancellor Professor K R Venugopal has instructed that the undergraduate classes be started from April 28, 2021 and the final semester postgraduate classes from May 5, 2021.

The colleges have been instructed to keep the university updated about the progress of the same online through Google forms.

In scenarios where students are unable to access online education, respective colleges have been instructed to provide them with online study material.

After the varsity announced postponement of exams for some of the semesters in the wake of a protest called by employees of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and a spurt in Covid 19 cases, it had announced that exams for third and first semester students will be conducted between June and July 2021 and a preparatory period would be given to students.

Prof Venugopal has also asked colleges to constitute NSS teams with 25 members to create awareness about Covid-19 vaccination.
