BD Somani International School, Mumbai (BDSIS) is a co-educational international school affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva, and the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK and offers international curriculum from pre nursery through grade XII. Promoted in 2006, it was the first IB school set up in Cuffe Parade area in South Mumbai. The school shares its campus with GD Somani Memorial School and BD Somani Institute of Fashion and is headed by the principal, Dr. Geoffrey Fisher.
The first batch of BD Somani International School (BDSIS) completed their IB Diploma in May, 2008 and over the years, graduating students have gained entrance to universities across the globe.
BD Somani International School, Mumbai offers facilities of global standards to its students in terms of science labs, wireless internet facility, locker facility, modern audio visual educational aids, conference rooms, a roof top cafeteria (proposed), sports facilities such as play fields for cricket, football, basketball and tennis, career counseling and mentor programme. The classrooms are well-ventilated and spacious with state-of-the-art furniture. The school library is stocked with journals, reference books, magazines, CD’s, and other literary resources.
BD Somani International School is affiliated to IB, Geneva and offers the IB Diploma Programme for grades XI and XII. It is also affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK, and offers the IGCSE programme for grades IX and X. The primary school is Cambridge Primary (CP) certified. In the secondary level, the school follows a strict faculty-student ratio of 1:20. In the primary level a faculty-student ratio of 1:11 is maintained, with class strength of 20-22 children per section and 2 teachers attending to each.
Extra-curricular activities: The school offers its students ample opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as theatre arts, visual arts and sports facility. The primary school curriculum follows the differentiated instruction approach in order to cater to the needs of different learning experiences of the children and aims to engage both the students and their families in innovative learning experiences. A program to facilitate the gross motor development of primary children called Fit Kids, has also been initiated.

In order to place students as accurately as possible, an entrance test is administered. Students who wish to start the IGCSE programme in class IX should have completed 14 years by June in the year of admission.
For admission into primary school the application form needs to be filled in and submitted, which will be followed by a parent interaction session. The admission results will be communicated via email. The child needs to be at least three years old to be eligible for admission into nursery grade.
