Ben-Gurion University, Negev (BGU) in Israel is currently accepting applications from international students for its Fall 2023 session in the MSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences program.
According to the press release the MSc program, offered by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, is a research-oriented degree with a thesis requirement. It aims to equip students with research skills and professional competence across various fields in geology, earth, and environmental sciences. The department’s areas of study deepen understanding about processes occurring on and beneath Earth’s surface. The program provides access to cutting-edge research and study facilities in earth dynamics, geochemistry, micropaleontology, engineering geology, and field measurements.
The program adheres to the rules and regulations set by the Faculty of Natural Sciences, including credit allocation and eligibility for scholarships and teaching assistantships.

- Outstanding students can transition to the combined MSc-PhD track in the second year without submitting an M.Sc. thesis. Students may also have opportunities for employment in research laboratories and participate in field excursions abroad.

Admission Requirements:
- BSc degree (or equivalent) from a recognized academic institution.
- GRE is required for applicants to the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics.
- TOEFL is required for applicants to the Department of Chemistry, Life Sciences, Geological and Environmental Sciences if their B.Sc. was completed at an institution with a language of instruction other than English.
- Acceptance into the program depends on securing a specific faculty member as a supervisor.
Tuition: Approximately $5,000 per year.
Scholarship: Full Tuition and Cost of Living Scholarships are available for outstanding students.
